Edward Newett
Prior to becoming part of the team at Real Time Risk Systems LLC, Edward worked for a multi-strategy hedge fund in midtown Manhattan where he was tasked with building out proprietary in-house systems to help manage the fund's large portfolio of loans and private equity. He led a successful development group in the creation of a global cash management system, improving a loan trading and management system, and providing custom integrations with third party bank and accounting systems. Edward introduced several open source Java solutions, such as Adobe Flex, JBoss RichFaces, and Apache Maven, to improve the firm's software infrastructure.
Prior to this role, Edward worked as a software engineer at RiskMetrics Group for several years. His interests in quantitative finance and risk were first gained through his close interactions with the members of RiskMetrics research and analytics teams. Among various contributions, the most recent involved building front office applications with an aim at making the concepts behind portfolio analysis more transparent through richly visual and interactive interfaces.
Edward holds an M.S. in Electrical and Computer Engineering from Georgia Institute of Technology and a B.S. in Computer Engineering from Pennsylvania State University. Edward is a Sun Certified Enterprise Architect for Java Enterprise Edition 5.
