Real Time Risk Systems LLC, founded in July 2004, opens New York offices to begin development of an analytics platform for multi-strategy derivative traders, portfolio managers and risk managers. The vision of the company is twofold: to create a revolutionary risk system which is 100 to 1,000 times faster than currently available commercial products and to design the platform to be able to quickly and efficiently adapt in response to the ever changing asset class and analysis requirements of multi-strategy managers. This quantum increase in speed will enable large books of complex derivatives to be traded, risk monitored, and managed in real-time. The goal of this project will be to effectively transform heretofore stale risk analysis into a live real-time portfolio management tool providing traders with a unique competitive advantage.
Rob Navin, the company's founder, with a background in fund management, quantitative trading, risk, and software engineering, recruits Chris Leon (Director of Technology) and Nikolai Avteniev (Head of Software Programming). Messrs. Navin, Leon and Avteniev begin research, development and recruiting.
